If you were planning on traveling or camping this weekend, better be sure to take some precautions.
The Icelandic Met Office announced that high winds and rain can be expected in some parts of the country tomorrow, with the weather gradually improving as the weekend progresses.
“Eastern and northeastern wind, 13-23 m/s, windiest by the SE-coast and in the Westfjords,” the announcement states. “Rain in the eastern part of Iceland and even considerable rain in the Eastfjords, light sleet or rain in the northern part, but mostly dry in other parts. Becoming calmer and decreasing precipitation tomorrow. Temperature 1 to 10 degrees, warmest in the most southern part, but chilliest inland in the northern part.”
While there will be some respite from the wind on Sunday, rains will continue. Winds are expected to pick up again on Monday, bringing with it both rain and sleet, especially in the southwest.
