The Blue Lagoon has announced that they will be shutting down operations until January 21 due to ongoing renovations.

The Blue Lagoon will welcome a certain amount of guests at the private lagoon at the Blue Lagoon Clinic Hotel, however.

Plans are underway to expand the geothermal spa and to construct a luxury hotel with 60 rooms, a meeting and conference room, and an à la carte restaurant.

By the time the Blue Lagoon reopens at the end of this month the actual lagoon area will have doubled in size and plans are to build a “skin care bar” where those wanting to smear their faces in the Silica Mud Mask can luxuriate in the blue stew and reflect on their privilege and dewy skin.
