Baltasar’s production company and legendary sci-fi director Ridley Scott are in talks to fund a pilot for a series two years in the making: EVE Online, the television series.
Variety reports that the two directors are currently in talks with potential investors to finance a pilot episode. As such, no premier date has been set, and details are scant with regard to the cast, but the news does mark the first update in over two years on the project.
As reported, Baltasar signed a deal with CCP Games, the producers of MMORPG EVE Online, to develop the game into a television series.
“The EVE universe is full of astounding stories of epic battles, daring heists, and gripping political intrigue,” Baltasar said at the time. “All of which will make for an amazing television series.”
Scott Free, Ridley Scott’s production company, has turned video games into sci-fi thrillers before. Halo:Nightfall, for example, was filmed in part in Iceland. Below you can see a trailer for that production.
