A new edition of popular board game Trivial Pursuit will most likely never be issued in Iceland again, reports Kjarninn. The cost of producing the game contra Iceland’s small population size is simply too great.
Trivial Pursuit is one of the most popular board games in the country. In fact in 1988, Morgunblaðið reported that Icelanders had bought more units of Trivial Pursuit than any other country comparatively to its population size.
There have however been no new editions of Trivial Pursuit in Iceland since Hasbro acquired the game in 2008.
By 2004 nearly 88 million units of Trivial Pursuit had been sold in 26 countries and in 17 languages.
