In the midst of last night’s epic storm, one constant remained on the horizon, Bæjarins Bestu hot dog stand, reports Vísir.
“It’s been pretty slow,” said Jóhannes Ólafsson who was working the hot dog stand last night. “But it’s been nice and warm in here and it’s nice to be able to make people who stop by happy.”
The customers were a 50/50 mix of locals and tourists.
“There are the Icelanders who are just putting up with it and then tourists who are just really excited by the crazy weather.”
Despite the wild weather none of the customers have complained, Jóhannes told Vísir. In fact, they were more worried for his well being than their own.
“[But,] the hot dog stand cannot close.” said Jóhannes.
