The Association of University Teachers (FHK) have reached and signed a collective bargaining agreement and the strike has been called off, reports RÚV.
As reported, university teachers were prepared to go on strike from April 25 to May 10 as they had long been dissatisfied with their wages.
University students were immediately notified by email and informed that preparations for the exam period, which begins in the coming weeks, will go ahead as planned.
FHK informed RÚV that the details of the agreement will be shared with the university teachers following the Easter break.
