Bósi will generate more offspring this year than any other ram in Iceland following the sale of his 3000th semen sample in December, reports RÚV.
In total 44,000 semen samples were sent from sheep insemination facilities in Iceland this past December.
Bósi who originates from Þóroddsstaður is the most popular ram in Iceland with Saumur of Ytri-Skógum a close second.
In the ram’s registry it states that Bósi is white with an expressive face, broad back and shoulders and a muscular build. On average the carcasses of the lambs he produced last year were 17.1 kilos and his daughters showed above average fertility.
