A special screening of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty was held in Smárabíó on Thursday night, for those involved in the making of the film in Iceland; Ben Stiller sent his regards.
Director Ben Stiller was not present but a video message from his was played before the film began, RÚV reports.
Stiller sent his regards to everybody and thanked the manager of the National Theatre, Ari Matthíasson, especially for trying to teach him how to pronounce Eyjafjallajökull.
He said he had enjoyed every minute he spent in Iceland and that he loves Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, one of the Icelandic actors in the film.
Other Icelandic actors include Þórhallur Sigurðsson (Laddi), Gunnar Helgason and the aforementioned Ari.
Ben Stiller said he’d very much like to come back to Iceland and that it was unfortunate he couldn’t attend the screening in Iceland.
The US premier of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is scheduled on December 25th and the film opens in Icelandic cinemas in early January.
