Vodafone in Iceland has decided not to charge anything for international phone calls made from cell phones to the Philippines until December 10th.
Many people in Iceland have ties with the Philippines and have struggled to find and contact relatives and friends over there to enquire whether they’re safe after a devastating typhoon swept the islands last week.
Vodafone has therefore enabled people to call the Philippines, free of charge, for the next twenty days. It doesn’t matter whether they have prepaid cards (Frelsi) or pay monthly phone bills, all calls from cell phones to the Philippines are free.
Unfortunately this can’t apply for landline calls made from Iceland, Mbl.is reports.
However, it doesn’t matter whether the calls are made to landline numbers or cell phones in the Philippines, the calls will be free until 10 December.
