Iceland’s Prime Minister, Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson, will meet US President Barack Obama in a few weeks’ time.
Vísir reports that the two will meet September 4 in Sweden, at the behest of Swedish PM Fredriks Reinfeldt. Other Nordic prime ministers will be in attendance as well.
The purpose of the meeting is to “underline and discuss cooperation between the United States and the Nordic countries,” discussing among other things foreign policy, economic measures, and clean energy.
It is not known if Sigmundur will compliment Obama’s command of the English language.
