More steroids were confiscated by police in the first 3 months of the year than had been seized in the past 3 years combined, pointing toward a potentially alarming increase in the use of anabolic enhancers.
According to a report on organised crime and terrorism released by the National Commissioner of Icelandic Police yesterday, 62,000 units of steroids were seized by police and customs agents in January, February and March of this year, RÚV reports. The illegal substances were in both liquid and powder form.
The increased seizure of steroids could point toward either increased use in Iceland or simply increased performance by police officers.
