Kit Kat is the most sold chocolate bar in Iceland, beating out even traditional favourite Prince Polo, a new Capacent poll shows.
Sales trends between Kit Kat, Prince Polo, Mars, Freyja Draumur and Snickers show that between them, Kit Kat has the largest market share, at 11.8%. Snickers was the least popular of these five, at just 6.8% of the market share.
Of particular interest is the fact that Kit Kat edged out Prince Polo by 0.4%. Prince Polo has been a staple of Icelandic candy bars, having been orignally imported to Iceland as biscuits at a time when candy bars were forbidden.
Kit Kat, which has been around since 1935, is also growing in its market share, and may soon hit the 12% mark.
