From Iceland — EVE Fanfest Tickets Now On Sale

EVE Fanfest Tickets Now On Sale

Published March 4, 2011

The annual EVE Fanfest will be here in just a couple weeks, and passes are now on sale.
The festival, being held for the eighth time here in Iceland, will take place 24-26 March. According to a statement from the organisers, the event has grown every year, and they expect over a thousand guests from abroad to attend this year.
Employees of CCP – who operate the game EVE Online – have reason to celebrate this year, as it was chosen Best Live Game by the Game Developer’s Choice Awards, the most prestigious accolade in the gaming world. The number of subscribers to the game has also surpassed 360,000.
Passes to EVE Fanfest went on sale yesterday, and already nearly a thousand have been sold, with increasing ticket sales expected. For EVE Online subscribers, it should be noted that you can buy passes with PLEX, the currency used in the game.
Tickets can be purchased online here, with a full 3-day pass costing 9,900 ISK, a Saturday pass costing 4,900 ISK, and a pass just to see the bands Booka Shade and FM Belfast perform at the festival costing 2,700 ISK. For guests abroad, Icelandair has put together a special package deal which also includes tours outside the capital area.
The festival itself will take place at the stadium Laugardalshöll. More information is available on the festival website.
