Harpa, the concert and conference hall currently under construction in the Reykjavík harbour has caught on fire.
The construction site is right across the road from the Grapevine’s offices and we noticed immediately. The fire has only been going for a few minutes. All fire departments have been dispatched to the site of the fire.
Firemen began arriving at the scene about five minutes ago.
This is the second time in two months that the building in progress has ignited, the first time on June 28th with minor damage done to the building.
UPDATE 10:58: The fire has now been extinguished.
