The ruling coalition of the Social Democrats and Leftist-Greens has seen a drop in support, while conservatives see a modest gain, according to the latest Gallup poll.
With parliamentary elections next spring, numerous parties are holding conventions and preparing for primaries. During this time of increased media presence, the different political parties usually experience some change in their levels of support.
According to the latest Gallup poll, support for the ruling coalition has dropped by about two points since the last poll the previous month. Combined, the Social Democrats and Leftist-Greens now have the support of about 32% of respondents, or 19.4% and 12.4% respectively.
However, the Independence Party has more support than those two parties combined. Rising slightly in support from the previous poll, that party now has 37%.
The Progressives also saw a modest bump upwards, to 14.2%, showing an increase of less than 1%.
Of the new parties planning to run next spring, only Bright Future so far shows any hope of getting into parliament – they now have the support of just under 5% of respondents, are just enough to win one seat.
