Better enjoy the sunny weather while it lasts; a storm is expected to beach this evening.
Although temperatures are low, much of the country is currently enjoying clear skies and light winds. As is always the case with Icelandic weather, these conditions will not last long – in fact, they will wrap up in a few hours, in a major way.
RÚV reports that a storm is expected to beach at southwest Iceland this evening. Wind speeds may be in excess of 20m/s. This storm will bring with it sleet and even more snow, although this may turn into rain at some point in the night, and could extend as far north as Snæfellsnes.
With that in mind, if you are in southwest Iceland right now, get outside and enjoy the sunshine while it lasts.
