Since the locals are more familiar with the goings-on at Airwaves, we asked two local artists what acts they’ll be doing when their not playing. Their names are Jón Ólafsson, a talented composer and pianist, and Árni Grétar (aka Futuregrapher), an electronic musician who emerged from the Weirdcore collective to co-found the Möller label in 2011. Here are their lists of things to look forward to.
Jón Ólafsson:
“Raw and energetic rock’n’roll is always a pleasure to watch and Grísalappalísa has a great frontman and will deliver a great performance.”
“They are a band I have been waiting to see live. I love their deep songs and am a sucker for good harmonies.”
“He makes the world a better place. Who doesn’t want to join that guy for some fun?”
“The boys in Ensími are great musicians and I love what I’ve heard from their latest album.”
“He is a friend of mine and a really talented musician in so many ways. He deserves a crowded house of people.”
Futuregrapher:
Möller Records Artists (e.g. Bistro Boy, Murya)
“The music on my label is my favorite music. I love what I do.”
“He is playing after me off venue. Young cat – really nice. Heard some stuff – but want to hear more.”
“This is one of my favorite bands. Real. Beautiful. Dark.”
“Love this dude. Everything he does is great. Techno is good.”
“His new album is the shit. All hail the president. Off we sail!”
