Visitors have been streaming into the Blue Lagoon in such high numbers this month that it has been necessary for people to book a spot in the water ahead of time, reports RÚV.
In total 750 visitors are allowed to be in the lagoon at one time and almost every day this month it has been necessary for management to control or limit access to the lagoon due to overcrowding.
The reason for this cap in visitors does not have anything to do with space, but is a decision made by management to ensure the best possible experience.
More than 700.000 people visited the Blue Lagoon last year, making it the most popular tourist destination in Iceland.
