Police and search teams are on the look out for a French couple stranded in Fjallabaksleið nyrðri, a stretch of land between Sprengisandur and the route 1 in the south of Iceland.
The couple contacted ICE SAR while east of Landmanalaugar, near Grænalón, RÚV reports. One half of the couple has an injured knee, so it was suspected that she was not able to move far from the point where they requested assistance, however finding the couple proved difficult.
Hvolsvöllur police are inviting anybody with any information about the couple and there hereabouts to contact them.
