Elko’s got some explaining to do, after it was revealed that hundreds of CV’s submitted by hopeful job applicants were available to read on the company’s website, RÚV reports.
Some of the CV’s were several years old, but some had just been received by the electronics retailer over the past days. Gestur Hjaltason, a manager at Elko, had no explanation for the online CV dump, but says that the CV’s were removed as soon as the company found out about the situation.
If you’ve been considering applying for a job at Elko, here’s hoping you were able to get a good look at your competition before all those CV’s were cleared from the website. And if your CV was posted, well, let’s be thankful Iceland isn’t a big market for identity theft. Silver lining!
