Award-winning designer Sruli Recht has a thing for making controversial-slash-gorgeous products (for instance: wallets and shoes made out of tanned minke-whale penii). He is a self-described cross-disciplinary artist, “caught somewhere between product design, weapons manufacturing, corroded tailoring and shoe making.” Sruli has been operating out of Reykjavík for the last few years, often connected to the music scene — among other things enlisting members of Bedroom Community to score his films, runway shows and installations.
On Saturday October 27 Sruli will be launching his new flagship store in downtown Reykjavík, and his music connection will be aptly celebrated by giving a sneak preview of Bedroom Community’s latest release, the one and only Mr. Paul Corley‘s fascinating new record (which we’ve heard, and is amazing)!
There will also be drinks and fun and garments made out of stuff that would give you nightmares. So drop by if you’re in the mood — the event is at Bergsstaðastræti 4, 101 Reykjavík, and starts at 4pm.
