On July 23, The Slut Walk will be held in Iceland for the sixth time. The main goal of this protest march is to raise awareness about victim-blaming and slut-shaming in regards to sexual assault. Three days before the event, Húrra hosts a pre-party so people can get to know more about the Slut Walk and come together to show their support. The Slut Walk was first time held in Canada in 2011 after a Toronto police officer suggested that women should “avoid dressing like sluts” so as to avoid sexual assault. The Slut Walk proclaim that the responsibility for sexual assault never lies with the victim, but with the violator.
