Pétur Ben

‘God’s Lonely Man’ is the sophomore album by singer/songwriter, composer and indie rock musician Pétur Ben. It’s a dense work that’s twined with the key elements of dream pop, art rock and alternative rock and with a considerably large reference in faith and philosophy. It was written, arranged and produced over a course of three years by Pétur and with aid from a large group of his friends that consists of Amiina, Sin Fang, Lay Low, Sigtryggur Baldursson of The Sugarcubes and Kippi Kanínus just to name a few. The album was released in Iceland in November 2012.  It won a prize on the Kraumur Shortlist, received a nomination for the Icelandic Music Awards as album of the year and landed on nearly every list of best releases for 2012 in the Icelandic media.  The album has been praised by various international publications, including KEXP.ORG in Seattle. His first solo album, ‘Wine for My Weakness,’ received raving reviews and won him the Icelandic music award in the category “Best Alternative Album of the Year.”
