The vegan and vegetarian society in Iceland has been hard at work promoting Veganuary, an international event that challenges people to go vegan for the whole of January—which is, after all, a month often associated with change and new beginnings. The association is running an online campaign, offering plenty of advice on where to find good ingredients and recipes on their website www.veganuar.is. The challenge culminates in a potluck event, with people bringing along homemade food and chewing the definitely metaphorical fat.

The veganuary potluck starts at 8 pm at Friðarhúsið, Njálsgata 87. Admission is free!
