Scottish National Week At KEX

KEX Hostel’s annual Scottish National Week is here, where Scotland and its heritage are honoured with song, dance, poetry, whisky, and plenty of haggis. It is connected to Burns Night, which is celebrated in Scotland on January 25, in honour of national poet Robert Burns.

During the three-day festival, which runs January 28-30, KEX’s kitchen offers a special Scottish-themed menu, with the mandatory Haggis, neeps, and tatties, and of course Whisky. This year, in celebration of Veganuary, there is also vegan haggis on offer.

Bagpipe extraordinaire and actor Russell Mechlan will keep the action going, and make sure the festivities are all in accordance with the established customs and rules. He is joined by the gaelic folk band Dàimh, who perform twice during the festival.
