Sigurður Ástgeirsson On His Favourite Shows On Thursday

Photographer Sigurður Ástgeirsson shares his favourite moments from thursday

Retro Stefson, The Reykjavík Art Museum
Woow they were fresh and the atmosphere was great. I once said that Retro Stefson couldn’t perform anywhere except NASA, but I was wrong. Still that doesn’t mean that you should miss their show at NASA on Sunday. If Retro Stefson can get a jam-packed crowd to sit on the floor at The Reykjavík Art Museum, there’s no telling what they’ll do at NASA.

YOKO ONO PLASTIC ONO BAND, Harpa Norðurljós
It started with a timeless video featuring a rundown of Yoko’s life. It got one thinking…
The band has great musicians, Yoko sang, or whined rather, but the band was mega tight. How old exactly is Yoko?

YACHT, NASA
One of these great Airwaves moments that surprise you, who are they? But shit, they are good. I love it when bands put effort into their stage performance and energy. To say the least, they were doing more than simply playing; they were entertaining. Why doesn’t anyone say: “Which band is entertaining next?” instead of “Which band is playing next?”
