The winning team of the WOW Cyclothon has crossed the finish line, as over 19 million ISK was raised for a good cause.
Vísir reports that the team Örninn TREK was the first to cross the finish line of the bicycle relay race, which circles Iceland as a charity event. In the category of individual cyclists, the winner was German cyclist Matthias Ebert.
The team also broke a new record for cycling the Ring Road, coming in at 36 hours and 53 minutes. The previous record was 40 hours and 36 minutes.
As reported, the non-stop relay race covers 1,358 kilometres, raising money for the construction of a recovery centre for the mental hospital Kleppsspítali in Reykjavík. Over 19 million ISK was raised at the time of this writing.
