Over 500 people are taking part in a bicycle race circling Iceland, with the aim of raising money for the National University Hospital of Iceland.

The WOW Cyclothon kicked off yesterday for the third time, DV reports, and will continue over the next two days. Competing teams have just 72 hours to cover 1,332 kilometres, with the aim of raising at least 10 million ISK to go towards technical equipment for the orthopedic surgery department of the National University Hospital of Iceland.

There are numerous teams and individuals competing in the race, who have all raised just over 9 million ISK at the time of this writing. In fact, you can follow the race in real time. Keep in mind that the racers are cycling clockwise around Iceland.

You can also follow the racers on Facebook or Twitter.
