Icelandic women and men represent 16% of those competing in the European Regionals for this year’s Crossfit Games, reports News of Iceland.
This year’s Crossfit Open is officially over and 8 Icelandic men, 8 Icelandic women and 5 Icelandic teams have qualified to compete in the European Regionals held in Denmark this May.
Two-time Crossfit Games winner Annie Mist will be competing in the Regionals this year after recovering from a devastating back injury which kept her out of the games in 2013.
“My goal is to make it to the podium, but at the moment I am grateful to work at full intensity again…I learned that I’m not unbreakable,” Annie Mist said of the injury in an interview with Crossfit.com. “I learned that I need to think more about movement, and think more about good form and good technique.”
