Iceland’s Foreign Minister, Gunnar Bragi Sveinsson, will be traveling to Kiev in order to learn more about the current state of affairs and express support for Ukraine’s interim government, reports Vísir.
Gunnar Bragi will visit the Ukrainian parliament and Maidan Square where an estimated 80 people lost their lives during protests against president Viktor Yanukovych.
“The point of this trip is to connect with the interim government currently in power in Ukraine and to show our support for the Ukrainian nation of course,” Gunnar Bragi told Vísir. “It’s important that Iceland’s voice is heard in these matters just like the voices of all the other nations making their support of Ukraine heard.”
