A search is on for a man who fell overboard from the ship Skinney SF this morning.
The man fell into the sea 30 nautical miles southwest of the Reykjanes peninsula, RÚV reports. The coast guard was notified at 6:00 this morning but their search has been made difficult by poor weather in the area. The rescue crew has been hindered by thick dark fog, prohibiting the use of the search helicopter throughout the morning.
Visibility has since improved and the helicopter TF-LÍF has been dispatched to continue the search effort.
