Hello, reader, and welcome to the brand new—and extremely FANCY— Reykjavík Grapevine travel site!
We’ve been working on this thing for freakin’ ages—especially our programmer Jón Ben, who’s spent many long nights slaving over a hot laptop, burning the midnight wi-fi and drinking his body weight in powerade.
You’ll notice some FANCY new ways to browse articles, such as clicking on the map you’ll see by the title of each page (including this one). You can use that to explore the newest stories from each region of the country. We’ve also made it easier to book trips you like the look of, using the info boxes found at the end of each article. And for those of you who FUCKING HATE CLICKING ON STUFF, you can keep scrolling at the bottom of each article to be served a whole new one. WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE, right?
To celebrate (and to show off the new site, who we kiddin’) we’re going to post a new piece every day this week. From a helicopter journey up to the new ice tunnel on Langjökull, to a clean ‘n’ serene yoga trip in Þingvellir, to hiking in the Eastfjords or walking on the still-steaming Holuhraun lava field, we have some very cool stuff for you.
So: keep checking back for new stuff – and let us know what you want to read about next! We love hearing from you guys, y’hear? Hit us up at travel@grapevine.is.
Enjoy the new site!
