We here at the Grapevine try to keep ourselves up-to-date on the happenings in our town, and in the issue of the Grapevine that hit the streets today, we think we’ve done a pretty good job of it. You’ll see that many of our featured events today have been covered by our team in the latest issue, so make sure to check out our articles if something piques your interest.

Of course, reading in print is always best, so we suggest you roam the streets until you find the latest Grapevine. Our photo of Prime Minister Kristrún Frostadóttir on the front will let you know you’ve found the right paper.

New movie Eldarnir (The Fires) premiered last night, and journalist Iryna Zubenko spoke with writer and director Ugla Hauksdóttir for this issue of the Grapevine. The movie is screening with English subtitles at Smárabíó, and is soon coming to Bíó Paradís too.

This Saturday, September 13, will mark the final service of renowned Westman Islands restaurant Slippurinn, and contributor Shruthi Basappa chronicled and celebrated Gísli Matt’s establishment that is closing its doors. The final meal is sold out, but if you’re in the Westman Islands, it’s probably worth stopping by anyway.

Got an event? Add it to the calendar at events.grapevine.is, or check out what’s already happening around town.

In our music review of the album, we wrote that the title track ‘RÍFAST’ “feels like a song that could perfectly close out a night at a large club in Reykjavík. Well, if you want to see them do just that, there’s no better place than their show at Prikið tomorrow. ISH
