Transhumanist Possadist art industrial BDSM soundsmiths Hatari are more than just two-time winners of the Grapevine’s Best Live Band award, and even more than just Eurovision 2019 hopefuls. They are now also apparently meme fuel.
On Monday, the internet was made a little bit brighter by a relatively low-traffic YouTube account, which uploaded this mashup of Jim Henson’s muppets set to Hatari’s Eurovision hopeful song, Hatrið mun sigra (“Hate Will Prevail”).
Of special interest to the Icelanders who have been posting this across social media today is the casting of Animal in the role of vocalist—certainly a step up for a musician not normally known for their vocal stylings, more often than not relegated to staying behind the drum set.
Whether the video will have an effect on Hatari’s chances to secure the Eurovision win remains to be seen. Regardless, it’s still three minutes of uninterrupted joy.
