Loji Höskuldsson – Garður meðalmennskunnar

Loji has been following a thread of Icelandic “home-ness” for a while now. For this exhibition, he joins forces with his mother, celebrated embroiderer Jóhanna Vilborg, with a show of hand-stitched work that seeks to describe the domestication of the wild that is the home garden.
Gallery Port is open from 13:00 to 18:00 On Fridays and 13:00 to 17:00 on Saturdays and Sundays. SP

The grungy drag monarchs of Iceland, the House Of Strike, take over Húrra for a night of orgasmic filth. Headed by the OG Icelandic drag matriarch Pixy Strike, this supergroup pins together the weirdest and most ratchet acts in town. From butch mess Jackie Moon to arm flailing disaster Lotta Semen to goth fucktwink Hans, it’ll be a show to not remember. For one day only, IÐNÓ welcomes you to the debut of Isle of Games, an event showcasing custom game installations from Iceland and beyond. You’ll not only experience the aesthetic and cultural novelties of the Icelandic gaming scene, but you’ll also get to watch a unique dance improvisation performance combined with a live gaming backdrop. The eleven-member DJ collective called Plútó was born out of the remnants of the legendary drum and bass club night breakbeat.is. In our opinion, they comprise the most comprehensive knowledge tank of dance and electronic music in Iceland, essentially like an art collective, but without the pretentiousness. Get turnt for five hours and a half straight. PW
BSÍ / MSEA / SiGRÚN
Sunday 20th — R6013 — 18:00
R6013 is a non-commercial, all-ages space for all kinds of performances, drawing in particular from the pool of new, less established artists in the Reykjavík music scene. This Sunday BSÍ (aka Sillus and Julius) will open the evening with a riot-grrrl-inspired performance infused with a spirit of DIY and krútt pönk.riot. They’ll be joined on stage by the bassy electronica of SiGRÚN and the mysterious experimentation of MSEA. AD
