Iceland’s in for weather as shifty as usual. Over the next few days, different parts of the country are going to take turns enjoying showering in the rain and sitting under the clouds. On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, some sunshine will find the west and the northern regions, and temperatures will hold at around 5 to 15 °C.
On Wednesday, Reykjanes and most of the remaining west coast will have a sunny morning and partly sunny afternoon. Rain will arrive in the evening and stay throughout Thursday and Friday. The beginning of weeked will be cloudy but short of precipitation, with some sunshine around Saturday noon. Rain clouds are going to appear again in the afternoon, dispersing only around Monday.
While the Westfjords will be overcast, the southern part of the region is going to rebel and have a sunny Wednesday. However, on Thursday morning, rain and wind with speeds from 14 to 20 m/s will take over. Friday morning is going to be mostly sunny, but evening will intruduce more showers – present until Monday.
Northeast Iceland will have a sunny Wednesday morning followed by rain in the afternoon. On Thursday and Friday, this region again is going to enjoy a lot of sunshine, but this time teamed up with strong wind, reaching 20 m/s on Thursday. To have things in balance, Saturday and Sunday will be drenched in rain.
This week, the southeast part of Iceland has to prepare for heavy and persistent rain, which will come with temporary winds from 10 to 18 m/s, on Wednesday afternoon and on until Monday.
In the Highlands, Wednesday will arrive with sunshine but will be overcast around noon. On Thursday, rain and winds up to 30 m/s will be present. The rest of the week will mostly have intermittent rain showers with a few short appearances from the sun.
