The fifth Transformers movie may be filmed in part in Iceland, just as the film’s predecessor was.
ScreenDaily reports that production is underway for Transformers 5, and location scouts are already assessing their options. At the time of this writing, Iceland reportedly “offers an enticing incentive for inward investment productions”.
Iceland being on the table as a filming location may have something to do with past precedent: Transformers 4 was filmed in part in Iceland.
Transformers 5 is scheduled to be released from custody in June 2017, and while Mark Wahlberg is expected to reprise his role as Cale Yeager, not much else is known about the impending cast. Paramount has also threatened to released two more Transformers films, in 2018 and 2019, include one Bumble Bee spinoff.
