Wow, Iceland Airwaves! Let’s face it: Iceland Airwaves is a music festival that mostly happens inside buildings. Some buildings are very large, sure, but it still means that the amount of available tickets is limited, and since there are usually some really great musical acts playing, those tickets tend to run out before the festival even starts. With this year’s edition just over a month away, we hear tickets are already getting scarce. So if you haven’t already, you should probably buy one now.
Or (FUN!), you could try and snag the pair of tickets we, Your Friends At The Grapevine, are giving away this week!
How can you do this? By participating in the fun scavenger hunt type game we are making you! Fun!
We will be giving out fun clues as to how you can get your hands on those free Iceland Airwaves tickets all week (fun!), with the final one being revealed on Friday afternoon (we promise).
Here is your first clue:
You can collect your pair of Iceland Airwaves tickets from one of the artists (or group of artists) billed to play Iceland Airwaves this year. That artist (or group of artists) has appeared in some form on one of Reykjavík Grapevine’s covers. That artist (or group of artists) is not Björk.
This means that you’ll need be physically present in Iceland to get those tickets, which is a bummer for people who are not physically present in Iceland at the moment, but then that’s life.
We will be giving out further clues over the next few days on all of our various social media channels. Therefore, you should probably:
–Follow us on Twitter
–Befriend us on The Facebook
–Add us to your Snapchat (our username is “rvkgrapevine”)
–Subscribe to our Instagram
–Bookmark our website and visit it often
Note that the clues will not necessarily be denoted as such. For all you know, a really great clue might appear in a newsstory about labour disputes or something.

Employees of and contributors to The Reykjavík Grapevine, along with their immediate family members, are not eligible to win this fun scavenger hunt contest type thing. Because that would be uncool. This also goes for folks affiliated with Iceland Airwaves, and the artist (or group of artists) currently holding the tickets. Also, really rich people should refrain from winning the tickets. Give the commoners a chance for a change. That’s only fair, right?
