Considerable secrecy surrounds the filming of scenes in Iceland for Star Wars: Rogue One, but locations have leaked to the press.

Sources close to RÚV report that scenes for the film are currently being shot at Hjörleifshöfði and Hafursey. If the first location sounds familiar, it might be because scenes for Darren Aronofsky’s Noah were filmed there. True North is the shooting team for the Icelandic locations in both films.

Þórir N. Kjartansson, a landowner in Hjörleifshöfði, told reporters that there is a great deal of secrecy surrounding the filming. Roads to and from the location have been blocked, and True North has declined to comment on the matter altogether.

Scenes from Star Wars: The Force Awakens were shot in Iceland last summer, and amongst the characters who arrived were Chewbacca and Han Solo.

Below, you can see one of the trailers for The Force Awakens, which is slated to premiere this December.
