As parliament goes on break for the summer, Speaker of the House, Einar K. Guðfinnsson, said farewell to MP’s by quoting lyrics from Iceland’s recent Eurovision entry, “No Prejudice” by Pollapönk, reports Vísir

In the final speech of the spring session the Speaker ended by quoting:

“Life is way too short for short-sightedness

And tell me who has got the time for narrow-mindedness?

We’ve got to get together on this, strike this problem off our list”

Despite occasional difficulty, the Speaker emphasised that ultimately MPs had worked amicably together this winter, prioritising the handling of business over pettiness.
