CNN has ranked Annie Mist Þórisdóttir among the world’s fittest women.
Annie Mist won CrossFit last year, to considerable fanfare and controversy, and sought to compete again this year. She repeated the achievement last July, taking victory by an 85-point margin.
Speaking to Morgunblaðið shortly after her win, Annie Mist said, beaming, “Of course I entered the competition with the goal to win again, but this is ridiculous.” The competition was an emotional challenge as well as a physical one, as she told reporters it was “an unbelievable, emotional rollercoaster.”
CNN, following up their profile of the world’s fittest men, made a new gallery featuring the world’s fittest women. Second on that list is Annie Mist. There, she is quoted as telling CrossFit “I think my strengths are that I can usually just keep on going. I don’t really need to stop and rest.”
By all accounts, Annie Mist will compete in next year’s CrossFit competition as well.
