Parliament passed into law a bill that would require companies to maintain an even number of men and women in management positions.
According to the bill, companies on the open market for trading are required to maintain an even number of men and women on their boards of directors. Furthermore, companies with 25 or more employees are obliged to make public how many men and women are employed, and how many of them are in positions of management.
The law was approved by 32 of 63 members of parliament from every party except the conservative Independence Party, with eleven other MPs abstaining.
