The basement of the National Theatre of Iceland has served a variety of functions through the years, most notably as a meeting place for the Reykjavík chapter of the Social Democratic Alliance on January 21, 2009, wherein they urged the main party to dissolve the coalition alliance with the Independence party and call for general elections. For now, however, it serves the Airwaves guests.
