In what might be officially the worst news of the festival so far, the much anticipated performance by experimental legends SWANS has been CANCELLED! Unlike the last sudden band cancellation, this is not of their own volition and the blame lays entirely on the shoulders of that stupid motherfucking Frankenstorm Sandy! WE HATE YOU, FRANKENSTORM! GO BACK FROM WHENCE YOU CAME!
Given how excited Michael Gira told us he was about coming back here to play for the first time since the 80s, we can imagine this is a huge disappointment not only to all of us and all of you, but to the band as well. Real huge bummer.
To fill their coveted concert slot on Thursday night at Harpa Norðurljós, our dearest organisers have pulled out the biggest stop possible and had the great king of Icelandic rock Mugison to fill in! Now that’s a pretty nice consolation present! We are sure Papa Mugi will do his best to make the night as wonderful as we expected it to be.
