POLIÇA Just Up And Cancel Their Airwaves Show – Airwaves Crew “NOT AMUSED”

From out of the blue, Minneapolis hipstercore merchants Poliça have cancelled their scheduled Iceland Airwaves appearance, a mere week before they were set to headline Thursday night at the Art Museum. While the reasons for their late cancellation are still unclear (we sent them an email asking why and we’ll totally post it if they get back), the Iceland Airwaves team is not taking the news lightly and are reportedly “not amused.”

While the reasons for Poliça’s cancellation might be unclear, it is interesting to note that their Facebook page mentions a scheduled appearance at Jools Holland’s TV programme around the time of the Airwaves show they had committed to playing.

Card-carrying hipsters and Grimes fans alike are said to be pretty sad about the news of Poliça’s cancellation. “This is my only chance to see Poliça before their sound turns old and I forget all about them and their mp3s wither away somewhere in the dark recesses of my hard drive,” remarked one Bakkus patron over a glass of mint Fernet Branca last night, while his friend emptily scrolled around on his Instagram feed.
