Harpa! HARPA! harpa?
Due to popular demand, the Faroese singer-songwriter Eivør will be performing an extra show tonight alongside the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra at 20:00 and 22:00 in Norðurljós at Harpa.
Eivør is a world class musician, but has always stayed true to her roots–still Eivør from the block. Her love of Faroese culture was only made stronger by her presence here in Iceland. She was named Icelandic Female Singer of the Year in 2003.
Her songs are a synthesis of traditional and modern, with themes of love, freedom, memory, loss, and nature. Eivør has been described as “a pure Viking goddess.” This is to differentiate her from other singers who fall more on the spectrum of diluted Viking goddesses.
