After a successful debut last year, the Extreme Chill Festival returns to the foot of the Snæfellsjökull glacier between August 5 and 7 to offer us a unique summer festival. At this year’s electronic extravaganza, which is being dedicated to electronic music pioneer Bjössi Biogen (Sigurbjörn Þorgrímsson) who sadly passed away last year, about thirty musicians will take the stage.
The festival organisers are proud to have two great international guests, the veterans Biosphere and Solar Fields, as well as many great Icelandic acts, including Agzilla, Andre, Árni Vector, Beatmakin Troopa, Bix, Captain Fufanu, Crackers, Epic Rain, Futuregrapher, Inferno 5, IntroBeats, Jafet Melge, Jóhann Eiríksson, Krummi, Murya, Orang Volante, Plasmabell, Plat, PLX, Prins Valium, Quadruplos, Radio Karlsson, Ruxpin, Skurken, Stereo Hypnosis, Steve Sampling, Subminimal, ThizOne, Tonik, Trouble and Yagya.
Thus, the festival promises to be a great chance to enjoy some familiar beats and undoubtedly to discover some new and exciting artists as well. Not to mention, Snæfellsjökull is just really chill. From Hellisandur, the small town (pop. 413) where the festival takes place, you’ll enjoy not only great music, but also a majestic view of the glacier. Have fun!
