Singapore Sling makes music that’s trippy, gritty and heroic all at once, the sort of tunes you could envision soundtracking sex scenes in David Lynch films—but better. Songs from their new album ‘PSYCH FUCK’ run from acid rock to heavy psych funk, filled with echoey sounds and spine-tingling whammy and feedback effects. Whiskey-tinged voices fade in and out of each song in unnerving, staticky ways that make the band seem both painfully present and hopelessly distant. In sum, don’t miss this album release show, also featuring raw noise-rock/punk band Skelkur í Bringu and funkmaster DJ Simon FKNHNDSM. It’ll bring you to a grungier and spookier place, I promise. And you’ll be all the better for it.
