Halldór Eldjárn may be known to many of our readers as a captivating musician, but he also happens to be a visual artist, too. He has an exhibition at Ásmundarsalur running until March 28th called ‘Plant Garden’ which takes a novel approach to the question of technology vs. nature. In this exhibition, machines hung on a wall print a few centimetres a day of what ends up being a long, continuous image of a hanging plant. Further, the amount of direct light the machine gets dictates how much “plant” is printed out. Stop by Freyjugata 41 and see this intriguing piece in person.
