KAJAK

KAJAK is a vocal-fronted electronic duo hailing from Reykjavik, Iceland. They write catchy pop songs hidden behind clouds of obscure weirdness. Their tracks involve tribal and ethnic sounds, painting a comprehensive landscape of a nonexistent world. The band is under the influence of tribal cultures and they have found a way to integrate those mythologies and ideas into their sound. KAJAK bring a spirit of life to their live show, mixing visual arts and theatrics making it a special and engaging experience to watch. The foundation of their sound is made with vintage synths and a drum machine. However they also incorporate live instruments for unplanned randomness and excitement. Every duo needs its own unique factor and in Kajak´s case it is familial, consisting of cousins Hreinn Elíasson and Sigurmon H. Sigurðsson. They are currently finishing their first album, a home studio creation due to be released later this year.
